So, does the ROCLINK 800 software work with the ROC364?

    • Scott
      January 13, 2010 at 2:20 PM

Yes, as long as the ROC364 is running FlashPAC version 2.20 or greater.

Hi! I have some questions with using DOS Roclink software. I have some problems with configuring History/Hour. How I can rename some historical ponts. For example: I need to see history of gas floving in mounts, than for that I Have kotel7,MNTFL, and the same point on kotel8, but in program I see lable kotel7 two times (kotel7,mntfl; kotel7, mntfl). How can I rename the second piont. because it shows us parameters of kotel8. Help me please! In manual I cant fint smth aboout it. Thank you.

HI. i am trying to set up a sampler on a ROC809 that is loaded with NGL liquid measurement. when i go to ROC, Information, and the points tab it show that the maximum samplers i can have is zero and the number active is zero. what could be the reason that i can not add any samplers.

    thanks

You need to install the license (a hardware ‘key’ that has a software license loaded) to active Meter Runs and Sampler points. Contact your local Emerson sales office for pricing.

      * Edit

This hardware key is installed in the ROC800 … remove the bottom-left faceplate (that covers the Eth and LOI port) and you will see two slots where the tiny key goes. Once this is installed with a valid license, Warm Start the ROC800 and firmware will detect and add the Sampler (and Meter Run) points to the database. ROCLINK 800 will detect the points exists and allow you to configure appropriately.

      Hope this help.

Talked to an Emerson rep and found out that i had to upgrade to the latest ROC809 Firmware and update my Roclink software. then i was able to add up to twelve samplers under ROC menu/ information / points tab. Sampler showed up under Control drop-down, Sampler/Odorizer.

    Thanks

What is the last versión of Roclink 800 ?

I have 1,82 with Win 7. Is it fully compatible with Win 7 ?

    Thanks
    Diego

    • Scott
      September 29, 2010 at 7:44 PM

The latest release is 1.87, and it is compatible with Windows 7. However, for ROCLINK 800 to upgrade successfully, you have to fully-disable User Access Control (UAC) in Windows 7, just as you had to with Windows Vista. If you fail to do this, certain files don’t get upgraded to the latest version. Also, we recommend you reboot your computer after the installer finishes.

Hi. I have an aplication without user display for a Floboss 107 and it works fine, but when I add a user display I get the following error:

frmSaveConfig:SaveConfig Error 9 Subscript out of range.

Im not sure if the problem is the display or the Roclink 1.82.

    What do you think ?

    Thanks

    Hi,
Does ROCKLINK 800 support OPC/ODBC connectivity options? i have a central data historian and the flow computer installed is not connected to DCS. i plan to integrate historian with FloBoss 103/ROCKLINK 800. any pervious experiences share would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    • Scott
      October 19, 2010 at 12:53 PM

No, ROCLINK 800 does not support mentioned connectivity options. Only ROC and ROC Plus protocols.

Don’t forget, ROCLINK 800’s main function is to configure ROC and FloBoss flow computers.

Side note, the FloBoss 103 does support Modbus protocol if your plans include connecting the DCS to the FloBoss 103 to poll for historical data.

Do you know a way to add text to the calibration report that roc supplies? I need to add as founds and as left numbers to make a better electronic report.

    • Scott
      February 6, 2011 at 2:27 AM

ROCLINK 800 doesn’t support custom calibration reports at this time.

Are the values shown in the calibration report not showing up? You might want to contact our Technical Support and provide additional details on exactly what you’re trying to do, and what you’re seeing. Perhaps the issue needs more investigation.

On one of my ROC364’s, I had a call that one of the outputs was not working. This was a discrete out and is the only DO on that ROC.
When I connected, I found that the point number had been reassigned from A10 to E1. Everything else seemed fine. The DO form would not let me change the point number back. I even tried downloading just the DO points, but it came up assigned to E1. I finally rebooted the ROC and upon restart, the point assignement was correct and worked again.

What can cause this? This has happened several times on this particular ROC.
    Thanks.

Not sure if you know this or not, but the E rack is assigned to on-board (System) analog input points. These points exist on/in the MPU. So, if a configurable point (your Discrete Output) has it’s point number change, then something serious is wrong. Points don’t get reconfigured unless their physical location has changed in the rack.

This is difficult to diagnosis, since so many things can cause problems. Perhaps there is “noise” that isn’t being filtered, and it’s causing corruption issues in the FlashPAC/ROCPAC.

When I use to provide technical support, it was common to suggest known-good equipment be swapped out, one at a time, to help track down the culprit. Perhaps replacing the module rack, or the Discrete Output module.

I don’t have specific suggestions, but shielding the ROC from signal noise and back-EMF is always a good thing. Providing good clean power is essential as well.

Software-wise, you might be able to clear any corruption induced by saving your configuration to internal memory, then performing a simple Cold Start (ROC > Flags). According to your comment, performing the Cold Start got things back to normal. To keep the ROC operating properly, it might be a good idea to review the power and I/O wiring to make sure transients aren’t causing the ROC to get “confused”.

If you continue to have issues with this ROC, I suggest contacting your Emerson local business partner, or contacting the factory for technical support.

Things have gone down hill with this particular ROC. We use an MDS9810 radio to get data into our DCS system. Everything will be fine for two weeks, and then the data stops. Go to the ROC, and there is a proper mA signal in the AI’s, but the ROC just shows -25 on the AI form. Also, the DO does not work when this is going on. Input Voltage is 28 vdc. Rebooting sometimes, but not always works. There is only one rack. I have changed out all modules, changed out the rack and finally changed out the ROC itself with one from our stash. We are still having the same problem. I also changed the Flash pack.

Also, If I do nothing, everything will begin to work after a period of time. We have this data in our plant historian, so I can look back and see where the data came and went many random times at all times of the day and night.

How would I shield the ROC from signal noise or back-EMF? We are using LPM’s on the AI inputs.

I’m running out of ideas. It seems to be something external, I can’t find the problem. I’m thinking about throwing a ROC800 in there. I know the isolation and shielding is supposed to be better on the 800’s.

  13. Greg
    May 27, 2011 at 8:10 PM

Are the ROC800’s better isolated and shielded than the 300 series and do you believe a ROC800 would solve the problem as well? We have a ROC809 we could install in this location and I’d rather start migrating that way anyway. However, if I’ll need the EMF protection even on the ROC809, I’d probably just work with the existing 364.

    • Scott
      May 27, 2011 at 9:04 PM

The ROC809 I/O modules are isolated, so yes I would expect this would resolve the issue. However, keep in mind that if there are already power problems, you’ll definitely want to resolve those… which I’m sure aware 🙂

        May 31, 2011 at 6:44 PM

The voltage is fine even during the time the ROC is not functioning properly. Are you suggesting other interferrence through the power supply? We are using a Fisher 24 vcd power supply. We did also try swapping out power supplies for lack of any other ideas for the cause of all this.
        Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I mean issues regarding transients or other unwanted induced voltages coming through the I/O modules.

      1. From the PC’s serial port, connect pin 2 to the ROC364’s pin 2.
      2. From the PC’s serial port, connect pin 3 to the ROC364’s pin 3.
      3. Finally, connect both serial port’s pin 5 together.

You have to use an FST. However, if I may suggest, if the end-device supports Modbus, I recommend using that instead of an analog signal.

I have ROC 107 and wondering if anyone has sample of how to setup the unit as Modbus Master to go get about 5 floats out of another Modbus device ( not a ROC )?? Got the manual but can’t make sense of it.

    • S
      October 30, 2012 at 1:46 PM

I don’t have an example, per se. But, you’ll first need to determine if your other device handle’s 4-byte floats in a single register, or splits them across 2 two-byte registers. I suspect the latter. If that is the case, you will need to configure the FloBoss 107 accordingly. What I mean is, configure two registers in the master table for every float you want to get from the device. Then, via trial-and-error, try the Conversion Codes 65-72 (from memory). Finding the code that reassembles the two-byte 16-bit registers into a 32-bit float depends upon the byte order and bit-significance of the returning data; that’s why it’s trial-and-error. If you know for sure, then consult that manual you have and find the proper code.

Post an update if you got it to work, or need more assistance.

I am using a ROC 364 powered by 12 VDC w/ 3 AI’s 2) 1-5 V and 1) 4-20ma, 8 DI’s.I am using an external power supply to supply 24VDC to the 1) 4-20 ma AI.The ROC powers up, good status LED, AUX 1 and AUX 2 come up no problem. ROC runs a couple hours and drops AUX 1 and AUX 2 and Status. Cycle power and process starts over. I have replaced CPU board and ROCPAC on differant ocasions, same result. Any Ideas which direction I need to go?

I am using ROCLink 800 on Win7 for ROC 800 Series.I have configured ROC 800 as modbus RTU master on RS485.I have configured Master to read a floating point value from slave. It shows the communication status as 8 i.e received slave response correctly. however I am not able to view the value of this float register. Kindly let me know what is the configuration needed to actually view this value.

    • S
      May 14, 2013 at 8:07 AM

In ROCLINK 800, in the Modbus Registers table, where have you instructed the ROC800 to save the incoming data from the Modbus slave device? Typically, those are “saved” in unused Soft Point registers (Point Type 98). If you’re getting a status “8”, that tells me that you’ve configured it properly … now, you just need to figure out where the values reside in the ROC800.

If you continue to have problems, don’t hesitate to contact Emerson technical Support.

      • Ali
        May 14, 2013 at 8:39 AM

As Scot said, if getting status 8, this means you are already did the mapping correctly and the register value already been transferred to soft point or FST register
Please note, when configuring modbus you have to specify a location where the data will be saved other wise you won’t get status 8

To do this you can try two things:
1- go to modbus master and check what is the master register been specified for the register you are trying to read. Go to register table and search for the register you specified in master table in all tables. You should be able to see where it is located

2- do a fresh configuration for the modbus register you are trying to read. In master table specify the start/ end slave register, function code, master register where to save it in ROC and number of them. Go to register table find an empty table and add the master register you specified and assign it to soft point, note that the soft point you specify should not be used some where other wise it will be rewritten all the time. Go to which table in soft point you selected locate the sofpoint data and click update

        Hope this help

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I had configured the Soft point for storing the modbus register value. But still it was not showing the correct value. Later I found the conversion code column whose value has to be somewhere between 65 to 72. In my case it is working for 67. After setting this value I was able to view the register value in Soft point TLP configured.

    Thanks..

Just upgraded to 2.20and now when I start roclink800 an error message says “roclink version 2.20 Roc.MDB database version is 1.83. Is there a way to upgrade the database or will this not be a problem?

    • S
      July 18, 2013 at 12:45 PM

During your upgrade, did you turn off UAC in Windows? This is usually the reason why the ROC.mdb file doesn’t get upgraded.

To fix the issue, you would need to extract the updated ROC.mdb file from the CABinet in the installer (not sure if that’s possible).

Alternatively, here’s what I’d do… uninstall ROCLINK 800 (don’t worry, your saved devices in the ROC_USER.mdb will not be deleted, but I’d advise to always make backups of that file). Once the uninstall is complete, install your new version 2.20. Copy the saved ROC_USER.mdb back into the Program Files directory and your devices will show up when you start ROCLINK 800.

      July 29, 2013 at 1:44 PM

In addition to the main executable, there are other library files that are installed that are necessary for ROCLINK 800 to function. I suspect that maybe one or more of those DLL/OCX files aren’t available, or is corrupt. I would download and install the VB6 run-time files from Microsoft.

I’m not sure what else to try; uninstalling doesn’t appear to work for you. I guess I’d try to make sure this VM has the latest Jet and MDAC components (usually obtained via Windows Update, but you can manually search for those on Microsoft’s Download site).

Scott, I deleted the passwords in the utilities—–> roclink security feature and now can’t open the software as no password (nor blank fields) will work. I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall the software but nothing works. What is the relationship between passwords in the Roc—>security opposed to the utilities—->roclink security and also the initial log in on the splash page??

    • S
      August 8, 2013 at 1:57 PM

Usernames and their associated password are stored in the ROC_USER.mdb. That particular file is the only file that is not removed during uninstall because it (also) contains the list of ROC and FloBoss connections you create (once ROCLINK 800 is open) and see in the TreeView.

What you did by deleting all the Users was effectively remove any chance of getting past the splash screen … as you’re now experiencing. I suggest moving the ROC_USER.mdb file out of the installation directory after uninstall and before reinstall. A default copy will be installed and you can start over from there. I would suggest keeping a known User/Password with full access (Level 5) for admin purposes. It doesn’t have to be LOI/1000. The “Level” simply dictates what menu options are available to the logged-in user. Those can be customized if you want.

The relationship goes like this … if you log into ROCLINK 800 with LOI/1000 and try to connect to a ROC/FloBoss that DOES NOT have that user defined in ROC > Security, you will not be able to connect. This assumes security on the device is enabled appropriately. Therefore, the device needs to have a list of users that are allowed entry. So, a device at Site A might only allow Technician 1 and Manager XYZ entry. It’s list would only have those two users. However, technician’s manager might distribute a ROC_USER.mdb file to many technicians throughout the company. This file would contain the User/Passwords of each technician. Manager XYZ might want to limit what each technician is capable of doing within ROCLINK 800 (change meter parameters, etc).

Hopefully, this makes sense. If not, let me know with a specific question and I’ll do my best to answer you!

      Thanks.

I was unable to delete that user .mdb file. with ccleaner or conventionally. It’s stubborn. my roclink software version is out of date so a supportNet tech has sent me the latest version and had similar comments. A password must exist in the roclink security fields. And fields in the roclink security fields need to be replicated in the Roc—->security fields once I access the software or I won’t be able to connect to the RTU. I’m in training so this is part of the training. The part that makes it confusing is when there is a default password generated as **** when I click on the username…so I can’t read it…and when I’ve changed the LOI password in utilities…that doesn’t change the default password that is generated on the splash page. I must manually change the password and then log in. We’ve managed to get it to work in the past but aren’t sure what we did right.

    • S
      August 8, 2013 at 4:33 PM

You may need to temporarily disable UAC to delete the roc_user file.

I have two FloBoss 107’s and were installed and commissioned. I have the FloBoss user ports connected to a desktop computer and was able to connect anytime with the ROCLINK 800 software version 2.10 .
When I tested this system (in Houston) which has two FloBoss 107’s one of the bases was bad and had to be replaced. After replacing the faulty base both units would communicate with the HMI computer and my notebook computer.

When I came here to commission the system in Nigeria both units would communicate to the HMI computers. After about two weeks both units failed to communicate with the HMI computers. I tried two notebook computers and the two HMI computer with several cable arrangements which were tested with the RS 232 port on the gas chromatograph and they all worked. So based on that and discussions I ordered one set of modules and had the other set repaired. Yesterday I tried the new and repaired modules but the would not communicate.

I am using the 485 ports on both units which is connected to a PLC and they have not faltered.

When I try to connect to the user port (LOI) I can see the Rx light blink (a short blink) then the Tx light blink (a little brighter and maybe a little longer). After the connect time timed out (15 retries so I could watch) I noticed that the Rx and Tx light are flashing. The flash is dim but definitely there. That makes me question the integrity of the bases since I don’t think the lights should be flashing even dimly.

Does the RTS need to be jumped? The HMI serial ports are set for no flow control.

Has anyone had anything like this happen with the FloBoss’s?

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

roclink 800 installed on Windows7 version 2.00. Im having issues with viewing menus, ie. menu and I cant view the words. The words are there but they are fitting the box. We were unsuccessful in getting version 2.2 to work with windows 7. I have tried the running it in the different compatibility modes with the same result. I’m sure it is something simple but it seems I am still missing it.

Hello, I am using ROCLINK 800 2.10. I get the following error when I try to save the configuration of a 503 device. ” Read device parameters FAILED for point type 14 – Comm Ports.” It is Point Type: 14 – Comm Ports and Point Number: #1. Everything else works OK. It is just the 503 devices that have this issue. Anyone else see this? Thanks

Sure! Your local sales office should have ROC and FloBoss ‘champions’ on staff that can help you. Or, contact our factory support team. If you have specific questions, let us know. I’m not aware of any tutorials available, but we’ve pretty-much have seen it all… If not, our local business partners have.

Well, it is a different device type. However, the hardware requirements are the same. The firmware is different, and additional user programs and licenses are required. Technically it’s possible, but you need to purchase the additional software to make the conversion. Contact your local sales office to get more information on pricing. Hope that helps.

make sure the biasing resistors are on for the first comm device down the line, and then make sure that the end device on the line has it’s biasing resistors off and the end of line resistor turned on. When we switched from Fisher MVS’s to Rosemount we had the same problem. Also make you are using shielded and drained comm wires to keep transient voltages from creating noise on the line and delaying messages.

Roclink has the ability to create custom “user defined” displays. You can incorporate vba scripting under the covers to animate some colors and with some fairly complicated scripting you can even animate tank levels. You would have to maintain a continuous connection to the RTU to get any value from this. Another possibility is to purchase a protocol driver such as Kepware and use its OPC/OPCUA or DDE connection to create a Excel driven “quick and dirty” SCADA host. The other option is to use Kepware and iFix or or Wonderware. I have had very good experience with iFix but it can be cost prohibitive. please supply information such as how many RTU’s whit type of connection (serial/ethernet) etc… and I will be happy to aid in selection or elimination of products..Sorry for the ambiguous answer, but there is a lot of information needed to make a decision that could cost thousands of dollars and you will have to live with for a long time.

With the Roc or Floboss, when you open the comm port settings, there is a radio button that determines which protocol or owner controls the com port, on the Modbust Host this must be set to Modbus Master, on the slave you can leave it set to Roc / Modbus slave protocol. It will see the message and determine if it is Roc protocol or modbus automatically. you must set up the master table in the host to look at the RTU address of the slave, this address (on the 107) will be the same address that you designate in ROC information > Address and Group, it only looks at the address.

      April 5, 2014 at 7:06 PM

Dude, would be glad to help.
First you will have one master and at least one slave (in your case it sounds like you will have two) what type of values are you wishing to transfer, I assume it is AGA flow data?
you have to determine what type of data it is (floats, longs, shorts, bytes etc…) once you do that I would be glad to send a .800 file for the master and one for each slave then you can simply download only the Modbus Master Table and Register table in the master then download the register tables and system variables in the slaves. Then you can look in the configuration to determine the setup and ask questions. That will be the quickest and easiest way to accomplish your task.

Lastly what kind of timeframe are you allowed for implementation?

      • Quentin Jones
        April 7, 2014 at 7:47 AM

@petewright, the values could be a miriad of flow data etc.. but for now we can stick to flow data as floats and I can manipulate from there. My main source of fuzziness stems from RTU address from each (would this just be literately the address portion that is set in each roc) – also converting the TLP to a modbus register- any basic set up you can send will get me started and help alot- and then I am pretty sure I can run with it from there. The sooner the better is best, implementation could start as early as wed morning. Big Thanks in advance

    Hello guys,
I am currently a student in instrumentation engineering technology and have been given a project to do that involves setting up a Floboss 107 with ROClink 800 and creating an HMI through DeltaV. We are having issues setting up the FloBoss 107 on the ROClink program as we have never used it before. We need to configure it with a Differential Pressure transmitter(3051 Rosemount), a static pressure transmitter(also a 3051 Rosemount), and an RTD to measure a mass flow. Any help or pointers on how to set up these analog inputs along with configuring an analog output would be greatly appreciated. We cant figure out how to set our Analog Output to calculate mass flow, so that is the main issue. Also if any of you have had any experience connecting the floboss to DeltaV to be used as an HMI, some help would be awesome.
    Thanks.

Sounds like fun, and possibly scary for a first time user. But, fear not as there might be hope. Check out the forum and and ask away: http://z13.invisionfree.com/roclink/index.php

Calculating mass flow might not be available in default FloBoss 107 firmware. In the meantime, you could configure the “Meter > Setup” for AGA3 (differential pressure flow measurement device).

I suggest creating a new topic in the General Discussion forum linked above… much easier to discuss than in the comments here.

This is a prime example of a question to propose to our experts at the forum. However, I will reply in a quick fashion. A ROC800 is an RTU. DS800 is a development suite for for customers to perform advanced functionality not available in standard firmware. Please ask this question on the forum, and also please explain this acronyms for us that might not know what you mean. Thanks/Cheers!

Thank you for the quick response.FIT is flow transmitters on an orifice meter, which in simple terms would be Differential pressure transmitters, PT is pressure transmitter and TT is temperature transmitters. Please comment on the redundancy question as that is the biggest problem that I have not been able to tackle. We cant use precision resistors!

There is a user program loaded on the ROC that communicates to a remote location via Modbus. I need to edit this communication setup. Do I need special software to achieve this? DS800 ALARM FUNCTION BLOCK

    Hi folks.

How do you properly use the ALARM function block in an FBD?

I have the inputs connected as follows:
    tag: STRING literal ‘PM1000 CMDFAIL’
set: from a TP block’s Q output (15 second pulse)
    val: REAL literal 0.0
    srbx: BOOL literal FALSE

When this executes, it writes 4-5 events per second to the Alarm log. If set is true it writes Alarm Set events, and if set is false it writes Alarm Clear events but it never stops!

Obviously I only want the events to go to the log on a rising or falling trigger of “set” but I cannot accomplish that. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for any help on this.

The ‘ALARM’ fb has 4 parameters (as you know)
tag – a 10 character textual description of what you want the alarm to say in the alarm log (eg….. ‘PmpAlm’) don’t forget to put the ‘ on each side so it is text
set – a boolean value that creates a “set event in the alarm log”, when the bool goes false the set event turns into a “clear event” and is logged as such
val – this a value you want displayed in the alarm entry for example a hihi pressure value if the alarm was the result of a real comparison (eg… Tank Level > Setpoint) would generate a true boolean but you might want to know what the level of the tank was. or if it is a bool i usually just put a 1.0 in this field since it requires a real.
srbx – i just add a [FALSE] tag to this, since I don’t do SRBX in my roc setups.

I hope this helps, I have done a buttload of DS800 don’t hesitate to ask.

ROCLINK 800 isn’t intended to be a SCADA HMI. It can connect to as many devices as available com ports on your PC/laptop. It’s not very helpful due to the MDI architecture of ROCLINK. You could, however, start multiple instances of ROCLINK 800. If you’re using Ethernet connection type, you should be able to connect to your FloBoss devices simultaneously.

    Hi S.
Can you provide a couple of practical examples of determining the proper scale factor value for tuning a PID loop in a ROC. I fully understand the pos/neg value for the action of the loop. But the official Emerson, Local supplier ( which quotes Emerson ) descriptions are very vague.

For everyone here is the explanation…..

“Enter the Scale Factor number representing the ratio of the output span to input (Process Variable) span. The sign of the number specifies the action of the loop: negative for reverse action (the default), or positive for direct action. Reverse action causes the PID loop point to produce a “decrease” in output (to close a valve, for example) when the Process Variable exceeds the Setpoint”

Eg. 0-5000 PV range, 0-100% Output.
    Solution 100/5000 = Scale factor 0.02?

    Have I got this right?

    Thanks.

I am setting up a ROC 827 Ethernet to 2 OIT’s and the CONNECT tab is not enabled (grayed out), in the past I have not had an issue but have updated to 2.30 since using in a previous system. Ports are set correctly. Does the Ethernet port have a point that needs to be enabled?

Sir,i have flowboss 503 installed for natural gas measurement… while calibrating it using roclink software…there are 3 columns displayed-
    1.dead weight/tester value
    2. live reading
    3.Error

Now my query is- Suppose i am calibrating for Temperature and apply a certain value such as “0” degree C using resistance box for zero calibration and entered the same value in dead weight/tester value column…but live reading is showing 10 degree C…and error also shown accordingly..how will i correct the error. Please help me..

    hello,
i have a Flo-boss 107 and i am currently having issues communicating using RS 232. It works great for about 2 weeks and then i have to reset our wireless device in order for it to re-establish communications. sometimes ill just leave it alone and it will begin to communicate on its own. we’ve recently installed ECM modules and they have worked fantastic. Unfortunately we can only order these modules moving forward. we are using MDS Mercury 3650 and moxa devices. I have made multiple changes to our devices over a period of 6 months but have been unsuccessful in maintaining a solid connection. am i overlooking something. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys, I setup kepware to talk to a bunch of Roc107 units and I was just wondering what the scaling on the voltage was? They all have 24Volts applied to them but the values that I am getting out of the units are all reporting 7.3 -7.5. Is this an internal voltage rail or should I simply scale it up by a factor in my HMI?

HI I Have a 107 and Im trying to link it with a Proface HMI screen and I seem to get comms from the 232 connection but it only pulls once and fills everything in but then comes up with a comm error. If I leave it on that page the values change but when I change pages everything disappears and doesn’t come back. the 107 and proface are pretty simple set ups not sure if anyone has any ideas I have a SP-5700tp with a SP-5B10 box.

I tried to upgrade from ROCLink 800 v2.30 to v2.51, but obviously didn’t uninstall the old version properly, mostly deleted it (don’t ask me why….). Now I can’t put v2.30 back on (gives me a 1610 corrupt file error) and trying to install v2.51, I get a 1714 error, saying an older version of ROCLink 800 cannot be removed. Something in the registries, but I can’t see anything left with ROCLink 800 anywhere. Any ideas?

You will need to perform a Cold Start and select Clear History. Be sure to collect any of the historical data before you do this because it will be (obviously) be cleared.

      Thanks.

  81. S
    April 22, 2016 at 1:37 PM

No, sorry. Those parameters are read-only for a reason; only written to by the history task in the firmware. A cold start with that particular option selected is the only way to clear/reset those parameters.

By default, our implementation of Modbus sends floats in a single 4-byte register. If your host isn’t setup for that, you will need to make some changes in the slave Modbus map on the ROC/FloBoss.

Maybe check out the Roclink board for additional help.

    Hello,
I recently installed Roclink version 2.10 on a Windows 7 64 bit laptop. When the program is launched, the “d” on password is covered by the box to input the password. Other screens inside the program are also misaligned making it difficult to use. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? I’ve tried a different version on the laptop and get the same problem. I’ve tried on another Win 7 64 bit computer and everything works fine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Change your display settings … probably the font size or scaling. Choose 100% (smaller) instead of the other options. You might need to logoff and log back on for the changes to take effect.

What modbus conversion factor to use for a signed 16 coming from a BMS for temp f° and a unsigned 16 for a numerical status (each value representative of various status).

The status should be 1-8 and the temps anywhere from 500-11000.

Hey, I don’t know if this is still a active site or not but I need some advice. I have a ABB GC hooked up to a 809 using a 485 card and I keep getting error codes poll sequence fail and sample min change alarms under the GC config user program and it will start repeating data, it only does it sometimes and other times it works fine. It is showing that it’s talking to MODBUS while it’s throwing these alarms though. I figured I had a bad wire so I ran a new set of wire, changed out the 485 card, went through all the programming about a hundred times, and have tried to use both of the comm ports on the GC but I still keep getting these alarms. Has anyone else came across something like this?

Looking for some help in implementing a Bristol 3808 MVT with FB107. Using ROClinnk 800 to configure 107. I want to set up a standard gas run using DP,SP,T from the MVT. • Ralph Barczewska
      November 10, 2017 at 2:56 PM

The 3808 might be using the same registers as a Rosemount 3095, either poll for 40401, 40403 and 40405 for DP, Static and Temp, or 7401,7402,7403.
Land these values into soft points (remember to disable logging on the soft points or your event log will fill up fast)

It’s been so long since I was involved with ROCLINK 800 development … so, forgive me. Was the installer executed by right-clicking and selecting “Run as Administrator”? Or, was UAC turned off prior to installing? I’m sort of grasping at straws with this one. I’m not sure what else could be tried. I do know that ROCLINK 800 does install and run successfully on Windows 7 and 10 (from personal experience).

  109. Pete Wright
    October 31, 2018 at 3:40 PM

Yes, UAC was disabled and It was installed using administrator privileges. I have this same version of Roclink running on at least 5 other windows 7 laptops and no issues. This one flat won’t work. I went to a previous version of Roclink and did an install then re-installed the newer version of Roclink and it works now, must be a .dll or .ocx or some thing that only Jesus knows, however it is working now.
